Antennas & Preamps & Diplexer

September 9th, 2008 Here's my current antenna setup:

  • Center - AlfaSPID AZ/EL rotator which goes from -180° to +540° which is a big advantage when tracking satellites.
  • Boom - 51mm fibreglass
  • Left - 4x4 WIMO crossed yagi for 2m
  • Right - 10x10 WIMO crossed yagi for 70cms
  • Pole - SSB Electronics preamps for 2m (left) & 70cms (right), below a diplexer for 70cms

Need a rotator? I recommend the AlfaSPID - best driven from 16v to 24v.

All driven by a TS-2000 and the new HRD Satellite Tracking software. Photos taken with a Sony Ericsson GSM phone!

The diplexer used on 70cms to stop desense (the 2m
transmitter overloads the 70cms receiver). Makes a big
difference!
